Pattern Testing Winter Whispers Hat and Cowl Crochet Pattern for Kerry Jayne Designs

Today I have something a little different to share with you all 🙂 as I had the pleasure of testing a beautiful new crochet design by Kerry Jayne Designs. For those of you that know me, you know that I love her patterns a lot and they are often my go to patterns for hats especially when I often take part in the yearly Christmas Shoebox Appeal for charity. So I was delighted when I was asked recently if I could do some pattern testing for her, of course I said yes 🙂 and this is what I have been up to these past few weeks.

August Raffle for #amigurumicharityrun – WIN R2D2

Cross posted from my husband’s blog.

We are sorry this raffle is a little late but this time it was on purpose. We were aware that as the last raffle was late it wasn’t that long since it ended, if we did the usual start of the last week of the month. We also felt it was nice for you to see more daily photos of R2D2 before we started the raffle, because as you all know I am still recovering from a severe ankle injury and it meant the start of the month I wasn’t able to daily but as the month went on I was able to manage daily, and then back to the minimum 5K a day. I hope you have enjoyed seeing the daily photos again and it’s been great being able to run again so I can share them with you. So we hope you’ll forgive the reasons we are late but this is the last time we plan to do this as we want to get back on schedule. Thanks again for all your support 🙂 and now let’s get this raffle started. Continue reading

Pattern Testing Bubbles the Baby Giraffe for Melissa’s Crochet Patterns

Hello All,

I am sorry this post is a little later than I hoped but life has been pretty difficult lately, anyway I am not here to talk about that so let’s talk pattern testing :-). I was asked by Melissa’s Crochet Patterns if I would like to test her new pattern called Bubbles The Baby Giraffe and I jumped at it as it was an adorable pattern that I knew would look amazing in cotton. This is my first time pattern testing for her and I was excited!

July’s Raffle for #amigurumicharityrun – WIN Captain America and Two Other Amazing Prizes!

Sorry we are late with July’s Raffle as it was the last thing we wanted to do, especially given we were late last month. As you might be aware July has been a really tough month as D had an injury when running which has kept him from running now for several weeks. He never truly realised till now how pain and lack of sleep can make you feel and this has meant he has been feeling ill every day. To cut a long story short this is why this raffle is late, especially as his health has affected mine as he is my full time carer so sadly anything that happens to him can have a huge impact on me too. We are both sorry it’s taken us longer than usual to get this raffle to you but hopefully this will be the last time they run this late again. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Now let’s get this raffle started! Continue reading

July’s Amigurumi Character for #amigurumicharityrun

I am really sorry I am late in introducing July’s Amigurumi Character with you all, as I usually like to share this with you within the first week. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing him via social media though and watching his daily adventures!

For those of you that voted in the poll and/or who follow the daily adventures over on social media you’ll know who this month’s character is but in case you don’t it’s Captain America! Continue reading

POLL: Which Amigurumi Character Would You Like To See For August’s #amigurumicharityrun Challenge?

Hello All,

Just thought I’d say a quick hello (update)

Hi there,

It’s been a while since I have done an update and I have been meaning to do one for a while so here I am. This will just be a short post today as I’m not having a good day and I still need to get another post up (the poll for August’s Amigurumi character) so I need to make sure I have enough energy left.

I’ll start with some happy news I received a few weeks ago, I got an email from the founder of Feedspot to tell me that my blog had been selected by their panelist as one of the top 5o Amigurumi blogs on the web. This was a lovely surprise and of course I had to check out the link they gave me to check it out. It was lovely to see a lot of other designers and bloggers that I love part of it as well and to think I was part of it as well, well that made my day. They gave me a badge to display on my website so I have added it to my sidebar, so do check it out if you like 🙂 and if you click on the badge it takes you to The Top 50 Amigurumi Blogs where I am sure you’ll find many you want to follow as I know I do!

June Raffle for #amigurumicharityrun – WIN Thor and his friend The Hulk!

We are really sorry that June’s Raffle is so late and we cannot apologise enough about this. As you might know my wife has been getting even worse with her health and I have had to have some time off as well due to injury and illness so overall it’s been a hard month. Anyway the Raffle is finally ready and all we can do is say sorry for the delay and that we’ll be working hard to make sure it’s never this late again! Continue reading
