It’s been a while since I have done an update and I have been meaning to do one for a while so here I am. This will just be a short post today as I’m not having a good day and I still need to get another post up (the poll for August’s Amigurumi character) so I need to make sure I have enough energy left.
I’ll start with some happy news I received a few weeks ago, I got an email from the founder of Feedspot to tell me that my blog had been selected by their panelist as one of the top 5o Amigurumi blogs on the web. This was a lovely surprise and of course I had to check out the link they gave me to check it out. It was lovely to see a lot of other designers and bloggers that I love part of it as well and to think I was part of it as well, well that made my day. They gave me a badge to display on my website so I have added it to my sidebar, so do check it out if you like 🙂 and if you click on the badge it takes you to The Top 50 Amigurumi Blogs where I am sure you’ll find many you want to follow as I know I do!
Apart from this I have been busy working on Amigurumi characters for our year long challenge Amigurumi Charity Run that I am doing with my husband. The latest creation being Captain America which I loved making and soon I’ll be starting on the next one. I also made an extra for June’s Raffle and I was delighted with the results as I wasn’t expecting much from the pattern as it didn’t look that good to me but wow when I made mine with cotton (all in the pattern book are made with acrylic) I couldn’t believe how good it looks. So these creations have kept me pretty busy and I am about to start making another extra for the next raffle too, and in-between these I juggle my other projects.
I know I am late in introducing Captain America to you and I promise that blog post is coming in the next few days so you can check out some photos of how he looks. If your following us via #amigurumicharityrun on social media then you have probably already seen him and I hope you are enjoying the daily photos that my husband takes on his runs. Don’t forget to see these to follow him on Instagram and it also goes to his facebook page as well, I try to regram a few a week but this is where to go to see every day’s photos.
Lately I have been busy testing a beautiful Amigurumi pattern that you may have seen on my social media. I am testing Bubbles The Baby Giraffe Pattern by Melissa’s Crochet Patterns. Below is my latest update that I shared and I’ll have a new update for you soon :-). Oh and as always I am making with my favourite cotton from Three Bears Yarn!
Here is a link to my Ravelry project if you’d like to know more and it will be updated as I go along with updates.
I am loving making this pattern and I look forward to sharing the finished project with you, I hope to have it finished by the end of the end of the weekend. I came into the testing a little late so the pattern is already published if you want to check it out 🙂 here is a direct link to it on Ravelry. The designer is also doing a CAL (crochet-a-long) for this pattern which starts today, 14th of July so if you love the idea of making one too and your ready to start check it out as I am sure it will be a lot of fun!
Just so you know I will be doing a blog post specifically about pattern testing this pattern at the end, so if you want to know more or just see more photos of my progress as I made mine it will be available as soon as I am finished.
I have lots of plans for my blog and I hope to start doing a few changes, mainly more regular blog posts but there might be some more too but you’ll have to wait and see. I am working hard on getting into a better routine so even with my bad health right now I hope to manage my blog better so I can come and share with you more often. I have a few blog posts to catch up on which I am working hard to do and then hopefully after this you’ll hear from me more regularly which I hope you will enjoy.
Well I really best end this post here as I still need to get the poll up so you can have your say about the next Amigurumi Character for our year-long challenge Amigurumi Charity Run. I hope you have enjoyed the quick update, I haven’t mentioned everything I have been making lately of course as I just don’t have time but I hope to start doing more regular posting so it should be easier to share more with you all.
Thanks for reading along and for all your support,
Ps> The photo at the top is one I took only a week ago, I was giving some simple card crafting a try and so I got out my lapdog tray and Huggy Bear decided it would make a great place to relax so I couldn’t resist taking a quick photo :-). Luckily he got off soon after so I didn’t have to bribe him off my lapdog tray!
